Profits-VGP Control The profitability of a project is the responsibility of each manager. Operations Managers are responsible to keep labor & supplies to a minimum with VGP on each job at or below the budgeted amount. A. Labor control - control your labor to the budgeted % on each job B. Contract control - required to maintain paperwork on all contracts as required to include but not limited to: Update budgets, request increases, revise specs, update contact information, review profitability, update janitor assignments etc. C. Control supplies- control spending to budgeted amount or less. D. Vehicles, gas, repair, etc. E. Damage and breakage control- Scheduling A. Schedules tag work and periodic work. B. Maintains tag work and periodic work at or below budget in labor and supply costs. C. Inspecting job sites as required. D. Respond to all customer concerns and fix the problem. Policies A. Responsible for seeing that his area follows and adheres to established company policy and working rules of the company as outlined in the personnel policy and procedure manual. B. He/she must adhere to company policy. Correspondence and reporting A. Report anything that could potentially put the company at risk to your manager. B. Keep the Project Manager advised of problems and activities to your area. C. Be punctual in answering all correspondence and communications and responding to requests from the main office. D. Complete all required forms and administrative duties as required. Personnel- Custodian and crews A. Learn the fundamentals of personnel management. B. Keep close contact with all supervisory personnel. Talk over their problems and give them advice or help when needed. Fill in for supervisors when they are off. C. Set a positive example for all employees to follow. D. Train & Document training of Supervisors & crews and janitors E. Monitor Supervisors & crews at all times to insure they are following company policies F. Track supervisor's performance, based on position requirements, and hold them accountable. Safety A. Enforce all safety rules, and inspect janitor closets for compliance B. Hold supervisors accountable for training and enforcing safety policies. C. Attend training opportunities and seminars made available by management, including monthly safety meetings. Minimum Requirements Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a service/customer oriented environment. Experience in cost estimating/pricing work. Have a working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and chemical handling/storage procedures. Must be able to write reports and business correspondence and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.
