Research Assistant will take the responsibility to introduce a molecular RNA aptamer into the structure of human tRNA for expression of the fusion tRNA in cultured human cells. Research Assistant will use molecular cloning tools to generate the fusion tRNA, including the techniques of plasmid purification and construction, PCR amplification, transient transfection into cultured human cells, and monitoring expression of the fusion tRNA. Research Assistant will generate 50 species of the fusion tRNA, each with a specific charging activity, and screen for the species that has the highest performance in cultured cells.


B..S. Required. Graduate degree in Biology or Biomedical Science preferred.
