Residency Education Coordinator, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

This position is responsible for organizing and administering the accredited residency training program in the Department of Family & Community Medicine. The incumbent assists in planning, trainee recruiting, analyzing workflow, maintaining databases, resident rotations, and communicating with faculty and trainees on a range of issues, and internal and external program relations. He/she also assists in recruitment and seminar planning, event scheduling, and communications with residents and faculty.

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the program and manages program logistics
  • Plans education conferences and workshops (resident conference, grand rounds, etc) in support of the residency program curriculum as well as other program activities (retreats, meetings, and graduation).
  • Administer, configure and maintain New Innovations, provide training/assistance. Ensures distribution of evaluations/shift cards and tracks duty hours and delinquent evaluations.
  • Develops, implements, and administers resident schedules for weekly office hour sessions in JFMA, based on the residents' corresponding rotations.
  • Ensure program's ACGME compliance and reporting for program accreditation
  • Provides ombudsmen-like services to residents in need of counseling, advising, and directing.
  • Creating, implementing and evaluating the quality improvement and safety curriculum for the DFCM and Primary Care Internal Medicine residents, in accordance with grant goals and objectives.
  • Provide first review of residency applications and screens for possible interview: evaluate residency applications for program competitiveness, and notify applicants of decisions.
  • Administration and coordination of all house staff interviews; communication with applicants and faculty interviewers, as necessary.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University .



High School or equivalent required. Associates


5 years medical industry experience preferred

Previous experience with ERAS, research/grant, student, in an academic setting preferred.
