PRIMARY FUNCTION :

O versees the Colleges' efforts to ensure compliance with University and College policies and procedures related to the student experience including but not limited to academic integrity, academic standing, clinical probation and dismissal, grade appeal protocol, readmission procedures, student grievance procedure, withdrawal from the college, Association of American Medical Colleges' (AAMC) guidelines and the Liaison Committee on Medical Education's (LCME) standards related to the learning environment and student mistreatment, at each training site and collectively as one accredited medical school.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Monitor and maintain the Colleges' policies, procedures and guidelines for fostering a positive learning environment free from student mistreatment, to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and best practices, focused on maintaining a respectful learning environment
  • Collaborate with the Office of the Provost to address student issues related to grade appeals, dismissals, student grievances, student conduct, leaves of absence, and other student issues
  • Serve as liaison as needed, to ensure complete and consistent prematriculation processes, and to ensure consistencies in process , interacting with University Counsel as needed; provide support as needed for faculty/students in implementation of accommodations, as appropriate.
  • Work with College leadership to promote the colleges' efforts to meet JCHP/SKMC/TJU policies and procedures related to student experience, and the Association of American Medical College's (AAMC) Statement on Learning Environment
  • Collaborate with key College and University staff on matters related to student retention and academic progression, student support services, and financial aid, ensuring that College and student needs are met, and ensuring compliance with academic standards, and adherence to University-wide academic and administrative policies
  • Coordinate special projects, needs, etc. that are atypical of normal College operations but require uniform management (i.e. PPE requirements, vaccine compliance, etc.)
  • Serve as a liaison for students to address identified issues and to maintain an environment focused on student success
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson .


Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum of a Master's degree in a health profession, health professions education, psychology, counseling, education administration, or other related field.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION :



EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge and experience in health professions education, program development and implementation.



ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :
  • Interpersonal skills to work with individuals who have been reported to have mistreated learners, including the ability to deal with high levels of conflict.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to confidentially work with a wide variety of learners, educators, and administrators.
  • Skills to develop and manage a database that records reports of mistreatment
  • Skills to recommend and implement changes that are needed to improve the learning environment at SKMC, JCHP, and its affiliate institutions.


Conditions of Employment
